Once Upon a Time...
This playful water-colour painting appears in my book “Island Poetry” which paints the culture of Trinidad and Tobago with all the colours of childlike Caribbean contentment. When I did this particular image I had to work around the fact that I did not feel competent enough to paint the full body of a crab … so I put him in a pot … which is where he was going to end up anyhow … now why does he look so scared … when he’s around people who love him so much!
