Man-Pride Poetry: Horny & Thorny Issues
This is part two of my Man-Pride Poetry collection. It is far more confrontational than part one – Mocha Mosaic. As the title suggests, many of the issues that are explored in this book are either of a sexual nature or somewhat complex or ticklish or all of the above. I would suggest an age category of 18 years and older. The material is not explicit (nothing X-rated) but it is highly suggestive. Parents would need to decide what they would be comfortable with their children being exposed to. Both books in this collection have beautiful background paper along with a few paper-collage illustrations (they’re not heavily illustrated). Eventually I hope to put together a collection for Black boys and girls, but, for now, readers can enjoy the collection for Black men (Man-Pride Poetry) and the collection for Black women (I-Love-Me Poetry).
